The Travel Soccer Program

Travel Soccer is an exciting part of RYS. As part of the Essex County Youth Soccer Association (ECYSA), each season Rockport teams compete against teams throughout Essex county. Most seasons RYS enters both boy and girl teams from U10 through U18 age groups (see age group cutoffs below). Our travel teams have become so popular that we now place multiple teams in many of the age brackets.
There are 2 distinct seasons for Travel Soccer, Fall (early Sept.-early Nov) & Spring (early April through early June). For U12 and above, top teams in the league advance to an exciting playoff tournament held at Pingree School in South Hamilton. Winners from the Pingree tournament are eligible to participate in the Massachusetts Tournament of Champions, which is held at the end of June each year. Fall Travel offers no district tournament, but local playoffs are available.
Both Spring and Fall soccer seasons are made up of 8 game seasons (6 for U16 and U18). Four games are played at home and four games are played away.
Players must meet age criteria to be placed on a team as follows:
